Cadets from 338 squadron visited the Metropolitan
Police Air Support Unit in April 2014. Cadets were
given a tour of the base and the INDIA 99 Helicopter,
They were told about the camera system and it
features like the infra-red and how they use the
downlink to send live footage to the control room.
Cadets also witnessed INDIA 99 take off and land with
a brief display of the aerobatic capabilities of the
Eurocopter EC-145.

Cadets get to experince the thrill of gliding in an unpowered aircraft. This gives them a chance to get as close to the feeling of flying like a bird without the noise that comes with a engine.
Cadets that show intrest in the activity can go on to apply for a gliding schlorship and after training go on to fly solo.
